Design Floor

I do most of my designing on the floor.

I keep thinking about making a design wall but I always end up back on the floor.

Anyway I decided to put together my blocks from Block Swap Adventure.

These blocks have been sitting around for awhile now and I decided to at least put them together - Quilting will come later. I also had a few blocks left from a round robin my family did a few years ago that I never used. I made a couple of extra block and I had enough for a quilt.

The 1st step was placing them and figuring out what to do with them.

I had some left over strips from another quilt that I used in the sashing. 

Used alot of Kona white.

I added the last blue border and called it done. 

It's such a good feeling to get a quilt put together especially a UFO.

Block Swap

I have been running so behind on my blocks for the Block Swap Adventure

Here is my block for my June partner. She wanted a paper pinwheel in bright colors.

I must admit this was an easy one to do.

Then I had my May block. She wanted a star and I thought I would test myself a little.

This is the block I ended up making.

After I made this one.

I tweeked it a bit and decided to send it along anyway.

As you can see my thread tension isn't very good. I need to have my machine serviced.

I tried a little fabric folding and made this to cover up the mess in the center. I thought the button was kinda cool but that can be changed. 

Block Swaps Made

I finally managed to get caught up on my block swaps.

This is one for my March partner. I started it and decided I didn't like the way it was working out. I'm sending it anyway maybe she will want to finish it.

So I made this one for the official swap. Seems like this is my basic star block.

This is the one for my April partner. I used the same pieces as the March block I just arranged them differently.

I thought I would add a little something extra to dress it up a little.

Blocks Received

I'm sorry to say my blogging hasn't been very good lately. I've had the Flu since last week and been watching grandbabies who also had the Flu - where do you think I got it from. We are all getting better -  'bout time.

I received my blocks for March and April for the Block Swap Adventure and as usual I'm running behind on getting mine out.

My Blocks Complete

I joined the Block Swap Adventure at the begining of  the year and I have really enjoyed the ride. The hardest part for me was to actually remember.  Usually I forget and before I know it I'm running late. Just like the last 3 months. If I'm not carefull they just might kick me out (lol)

Yesterday I got busy and did my block partners for Oct, Nov, and Dec - Now I'm all caught up

I brought them to work with me today and if I don't forget I will go mail them at lunch.

 It sure is rough getting old - the mind just isn't what it use to be.
