A Partial Finish

I was able to get my Dresden Plate out of the frame yesterday.
I wish I could say it was finished but I can't.
I will have to put it back in the frame to complete 3 side borders.
It turned out alot better than I thought it would.
I was really worried about the varagated thread but I think it looks good.

I will have to put it on hold for awhile so I can get a few things done for Christmas.

Completed Suit

I've been so busy lately trying to finish up this suit. It seemed like something would come up every time I tried to get a little work done.
What was really bad was my customer gave me the fabric around the first of the year and I told her that I wouldn't be able to make it til around June --- and I lost the fabric somewhere in the sewing room.
As well as forgetting about making it.
She asked about it while my hand was hurt and I used that as an excuse (bad I know). Then I made a mad dash to clean up the sewing room looking for the fabric.
As with most things, I put it somewhere where I would know where it was --- and forgot.

Long story short I found the fabric and have grumbled the entire time I've been working on it. I wasn't crazy about the fabric or pattern. But YEAH it's done.
Now I'm hoping to get the Dresden plate finished this weekend  ---  wishful thinking.

Mardi Gras

Unfortunately I haven't gotten much work done lately so I thought I'd put some more pics of some embroidery I've done.
This is the start of some pieces for a Mardi Gras quilt that I'm making.

I fell in love with these faces.
I still need to trim threads.

I had my husband tear off the stabilizer. Have to keep the boy productive.

I still have a few more to go. I thought I'd use a couple of those fans as well. And I have some fleur de les designs I can use.

I did manage to get the suit I'm working on almost done. If I hadn't helped a friend move on Saturday I probably would have finished it.
I did get in a little quilting on the Dresden Plate quilt. I need to get that finished in order to get some other projects done before Christmas.

Dresden Plate Top complete

I finally finished my Dresden Plate quilt top. A good friend of mine put the border pieces together for me. I think it turned out really nice. Now it can go in the stack of tops waiting to be quilted.

Dresden Plate

I did manage to get my Dresden Plate put together. It sure is nice not going to work - I get alot more accomplished. I do have a little more work to do to it. I think it needs a border to complete it but I can't decide on what to do. I think I will put it aside for awhile until something comes to mind. I could use some help if anyone has any ideas.
Now I need to put my efforts into getting some quilts out.

Dresden Plate Giveaway Winner

First off I would like to thank the people that entered my giveaway. I really appreciate it. Evidently it wasn't that great of a prize but I don't care - I like the Dresden plates anyway.

I picked the winner using a random number generator (although
'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe' would have worked as well).

The number selected was #8 - Jennifer. I will send them out as soon as I get your address. I hope you like them and we would love to see what you do with them.

For a final note - I am having trouble with my blog. I don't know if it's me or the computer but I can't seem to make any comments and my log in keeps kicking me out. Right now all I can do is post. When I get time I will try to fix it.

Dresden Plate Giveaway

I've been busy making my Dresdens for my quilt and having fun with my embroidery machine. I need 14 more 6" plates to have enough for a full size quilt. After it's finished I will put it up for sale. Which at the rate I'm going will be awhile. I have a quilt for my daughter, 2 customer quilts and the Hoffman quilt that I need to finish 1st. Whew - what a list.
Anyway I have made 6 8" Dresden plates that I thought one of my followers might like. They are on 12" blocks and could probably be made into pillows or with a good size border maybe a lap quilt. Or even a tote -
I have listed 3 pictures but there are 6 total 8" blocks (and one 6" if interested). How about we go til the end of the month of May. I will pick a winner from one of my followers that is interested on Tuesday, May 31st. Maybe I can get a couple more made by then.

Grandmother's quilt

I finished my grandmother's quilt today. I was going to wait and bind it later but I decided I wanted to have one completed project for the weekend.

Now that I have this quilt out of the frame I can finish the Hoffman quilt - time's running out.

I worked on the Dresden plates yesterday and I only have 6 more to go before I can start putting it together.

Dresden plates

I put together some more Dresden plates over the weekend. The application I have has 5 different plates and I thought I'd do one of each in one of the 4 colors. So that means I'll need 20 and I have 9 done - another project in the works. Then I'm thinking about putting them together in a honeycomb pattern.

I need to quit playing around and get the Hoffman quilt finished. I've been putting it off and thinking about it so I won't mess it up.

I also did 4 more Dear Jane blocks - I'm in the double digits

Dresden Plate

I managed to make 2 more dresdens

I have had a wonderful thought --- I'm going to teach my husband how to do these. I figured I could put him to work on these and I could get other things done and get these done at the same time. It's taken me about 3 years just to get him to use the computer -- this might be a major undertaking
