New Old Project

Years (many many years) ago I had some silk dupioni scraps so I decided to make a Texas star.
Of course I was in a hurry and figured I would just serge it to keep it from ravelling. WRONG
That was a bust - none of my seams matched up. So I just left it alone and stored it away.
I pulled it out not too long ago, took it all apart and ironed all the little pieces.
I made a pattern for paper piecing - I was going to make sure everything lined up.
I laid it out on the floor and I'm please with the look so far.
Now I need to figure out how I want to finish it out.

Notice anything funny about my design.
I can actually call it my design.
Maybe I'll call it the LA-Tex star

sorta Texas Star

I can't believe how little I've gotten done lately.
My daughter and 4 grandchildren came down for a week after Christmas and that was nice.
While they were here I did manage to get my star pieces put together.

This is made using dupioni silk. I made it about 15 years ago but I wasn't happy with the way it went together. So a friend of mine ripped it apart and I put it back together by paper piecing. I have all the points done for now. I'll finish it later.
I'd like to say it's a Texas Star but it has 7 points not 8.

I'm still having trouble with my computer and can't get on to post. I've done something (usually do)
