Home Is Where The Heart Is
This is my second Home Tweet Home Block. I should probably use the placement guide but I am still dancing to my own drummer and just eyeballing it. I'm actually making it a little bigger than the pattern.
Here is the pattern by McKenna Ryan
Quilting professionally or just for personal use is a rewarding art form being enhanced by the imagination of young and old.

Toni's Round Robin
A few years ago we (family members) did a round robin and this is the one my daughter ended up with. She gave it to me to quilt and I thought I would practice on a pantograph. Now that I've done one I can say I don't really care for them. I don't like working from the back side of the machine. Maybe later it might be more fun.
Now I need to bind it and it will be finished. I'll just put it in my to-do stack for later.
I had the worst time with the tension. I was ready to just take it out and say forget it and then I decided to change the bobbin. Amazing what something simple like that will do. No more pre-wound bobbins for me. It works so much better winding my own. I had read somewhere not to use the pre-wounds and now I know why.

Block Swap
I've been so busy lately that I kept putting off my Block Swaps. So yesterday I decided to get caught up.
This is the one for my September partner
This is the one for my August partner. I have never done a wonky block before and was a little leary about this one. It turned out easier than I thought. I just drew a picture and layed out the fabrics - a little sewing and I was done.It took a little longer than I thought but it was fun
Here is my September block i received in the mail. It was put in the stack of bills and I didn't find it until yesterday. I really like the pattern and the colors will go great with my other blocks

Home Tweet Home
Yesterday I thought I'd play for awhile and what better to play with than Home Tweet Home by McKenna Ryan.
This is the pattern for 'Roomies'
And this is what I came up with. Doesn't look like the pattern but close. I didn't use the placement guide, I just placed them visually, which I won't do when I do the real thing. Now I need to sew it down. It wasn't near a difficult as I thought it would be. I had fun.

Double Giveaway
I haven't had a chance to put much out here lately so I decided to have a Double Giveaway. Two people will win one of these items.
The 1st is 2 books - Quilter's Complete Guide and Skillbuilder Companion. I just bought the Skillbuilder thinking I could get some ideas for machine quilting. But it is geared more for sewing machine quilting.
Second is this box of embroidery floss. My husband got 4 of these off of craig's list thinking I could use them but I already had a good supply. I have noticed that alot of people are doing sticheries and someone is bound to be able to use this. I will give the other ones away later.
All you need to do to win one of these is be a follower and let me know which item you would like to win 1 or 2.
I will draw a winner on October 1st.

Doll Patterns
I found these really cute doll patterns yesterday at melodies plus and I thought I would share
These are just too cute. They are 10 1/2 " tall and are suppose to be easy to make and they can be made from odds and ends from around the house. I figured if I put them on my blog I wouldn't misplace the web site. I'm definately going to make some - when I get time.

Baltimore Sampler
I finished all my Baltimore Sampler blocks. Now I need to put them together and make the border. I have something in mind for the border - I just hope it works. If not then I'll just put some strips like usual.
I just fixed my blog where I can now comment on other blogs. Now to find the time. I don't get much computer time

Travel Wipes
I caught up on all my alterations yesterday as well as folding my cloths and cooking dinner. Feels good just to have the alterations done.
I also made this travel wipes - don't really know what it is called - for a baby shower. I need to get prepared - I know she is going to cry. I couldn't find my pattern so I just winged it.
I wanted to work on my Ghastlies project but wasn't enough time. I am behind on by Block Swap as well - maybe next weekend.

The next soccer star
I've been so busy trying to catch up on a bunch of projects and it seems like I'm getting nowhere. I took time out yesterday to go watch my grandson play soccer. For a 4 year old he is pretty good. I found out later that he got flaming mad when I left early. I didn't think he even knew I was there.
Today I have alterations to finish up and a diaper/wipe bag to make. Also have something to make for my Ghastlie project.
Also Jeanette at Inch Worm Fabrics is trying to clean out her stash and is having a Giveaway - go check it out you might get something good.
Last week I told my husband I wanted a bike so I could ride around the block (Too many loose dogs to walk) and he found this one on sale. I don't have a problem riding a boys bike but this is a little to big for me. I'm riding it anyway.

Dresden Plate
I did manage to get my Dresden Plate put together. It sure is nice not going to work - I get alot more accomplished. I do have a little more work to do to it. I think it needs a border to complete it but I can't decide on what to do. I think I will put it aside for awhile until something comes to mind. I could use some help if anyone has any ideas.
Now I need to put my efforts into getting some quilts out.

Daydream Top Complete
I managed to complete my Daydream top yesterday. Now all I need to do is press it and quilt it. I haven't finished getting the pattern in order yet but I will. Then I'm going to send it to my daughter and get her to make one to work out the kinks.
If all goes well I'm hoping to get my Dresden plate put together today. That one is a little more difficult -tons of y seams. I still need to fold the cloths and I did want to hit up Hancocks and Hobby Lobby (SALES) but the ran from that tropical storm has kept me house-bound all weekend.
