Quillow

I played a little catch up this past weekend.
I was asked to make this quillow a while back and kept getting side tracked.
My husband drove me all over town Friday looking for the chevron fabric.
I thought it was a popular design but I couldn't find any.
Finally after all the looking we found it at Hobby Lobby right around the corner.

Bev's Quilt

My mother and sister Beverly (Quilters Corner) came for a visit over the weekend.
I told Bev to bring a quilt to practice on before she gets her machine quilter.
Well Here it is.
I helped her put it in the frame and showed her a few things about my machine and left her at it.
She did such an awesome job on her 1st quilt.
She's going to be a great machine quilter.
Wish I could keep her here - I have a ton of quilts that need to be quilted.
She sent me a few when I got my machine so I could have something to practice on -
maybe I can return the favor.
We put it in the frame Thursday night and took it out yesterday.
Of course we did a bunch of other things while they were here.
She helped me put one in yesterday and they left today.

A RE-DO

I worked on these Stack-n-Whacks over the weekend and decided I wasn't that crazy about them.
I wasn't sure if it was the colors or the fact that they were only 6 repeats.
I've never done 6 before, I have always done 8 repeats.

Anyway I took them apart last night and re-did them making them into stars.
I like these much better.
Hard to imagine they are the same just different shapes.
I have the best of both worlds.
Stars and Stack-n-Whacks --- both my favorites.

Stack-n-Whack

I had such a productive weekend. I like it when I can get something done - although my house didn't get cleaned - I'll work on that this week after work.
Anyway I started with this piece of fabric and got it tacked for a stack-n-whack.
I only had 6 repeats so it didn't take that long.
I cut off one strip and made these samples to see if they would work for something I have in mind.
I'm not sure if they are what I'm wanting for this project but they will work nicely on another.
So I had this other piece that I had started tacking a while back and I decided to finished it to see what it would look like. It took a little longer to tack - it was 8 repeats. I did manage to get 4 more of my Christmas blocks done while I was tacking (multi-tasking).
I cut a strip off and made these with the second piece.
I really like these only they are bigger than I wanted.
I also like the shape better. Only thing is these will have to be appliqued but that's not a big deal.
I do like Stack-n-Whacks.
