It would be great if everyone would visit her shop and wish her a good day. It wouldn't hurt to buy something while you are there.

GIVEAWAY

I did a little cleaning over the weekend (hard to believe) and I had 4 gallon zip locks in a drawer taking up space with these fabric strips.
So I thought about all my followers. Maybe one of you might want some of my scraps.

Most of the strips are 1.5". Great for making a log cabin quilt.
If I remember right that's why I have them.
I way over cut when I made my log cabins  - and I made a king and 2 doubles.
I also had a baggie left over from a courthouse steps that my daughter did.
One of these bundles is 2" and the rest are 1.5".
It's not top of the line fabric but it is nice.
If I was really nice I would have pressed all of it.
Who knows how long they have been tucked away in the drawer.
And if I haven't used them by now, I could at least use the drawer.

Anyway, I thought I would offer these up to one of my followers if anyone is interested just leave me a comment.
I will draw a winner on Groundhog Day (Feb 2)

Owls are finished

I was able to get the binding on the owl quilt last night. The back is a pink polka dot flannel so I didn't want to use the cream fabric that was on the front. Lucky for me when I made my 9 patches I cut out more than I needed.  I thought I did good using it in the border - that cut it down quite a bit. After  I used it on the binding I had only one square left. My luck usually doesn't work that way.

I put my pineapple quilt together over the weekend - I still need to put the border on.
I thought I might make it a little wider than normal and do some applique
It was paper pieced and this is a picture of how it looked before the paper was taken off.
Took my husband 3 nights to get it all off. He stayed up late last night just to have it finished.
Sure helped me out.

A Quickie

My daughter needed a quilt for a friend. I had the owls done and all I needed to do was add borders and quilt it. Simple task - no problem.

So over the weekend I played around with different ideas for the border and settled on this.
I also embroidered the name and B-date.
Found backing and batting yesterday (off work for MLK day).
Put it in the frame and went to town.
Now I know it isn't a big quilt but it is a quilt just the same and I managed to get it quilted in a day.
Whew........
But like most of my endeavors something has to suffer. The house is a wreck (nothing unusual), I also did 5 loads of clothes - which are piled up on the couch and I didn't cook any dinner. For that matter I didn't even eat dinner (which won't hurt me in the least)
Now I need to get the binding on by Friday. I have a bunch of leftover squares that I thought would look great.

Pink and Blue

I finally finished this quilt. My sister Beverly (Ouilter's Corner) made the top and let me do some practise work on it.

It turned out alot better than I thought it would. I can see all the mistakes. I guess that's all part of it.
One of my goals this year is to get better and get them done faster (wishful thinking on my part)

sorta Texas Star

I can't believe how little I've gotten done lately.
My daughter and 4 grandchildren came down for a week after Christmas and that was nice.
While they were here I did manage to get my star pieces put together.

This is made using dupioni silk. I made it about 15 years ago but I wasn't happy with the way it went together. So a friend of mine ripped it apart and I put it back together by paper piecing. I have all the points done for now. I'll finish it later.
I'd like to say it's a Texas Star but it has 7 points not 8.

I'm still having trouble with my computer and can't get on to post. I've done something (usually do)
