I finally got the black batting and finished the His & Hers quilts.
These are lap quilts for their recliners
This is Hers

This is His

And check out these corners - Perfect
I usually have at least one that isn't up to par but all these turned out great.

I delivered them today and she loves them.

Camo Quilt

I had a customer that wanted a quilt for her husband that loves to hunt.
And this is what I came up with.
I ordered a deer quilt design.
You can't see it very good but I love it
It was an edge to edge so there are deer all over it
And of course I used camo fabric for the backing.
I used a brown thread and it blends in with the camo.
Best of all she loved it and I have 2 more people interested in getting their hubbies one.

Progress

It is so hard to find time to blog when I'm home. I usually wait and take care of it when I'm at work. I don't know what I'll do when I retire.

Anyway I took this out of the frame Saturday.
I used a varigated thread.
I really do like varigated it gives the back a little extra snap.
I wish I was a little better at taking pictures but I get in such a hurryI

Now all I need to do is the binding and label.
That will have to wait - maybe next week.

The Quilts are Hung

I gave my daughters my best best quilts. You know the ones you just can't get rid of.
My husband was a little upset that I would give them such a gift.
The way I looked at it they were just getting ruined folded up at my house and the girls had places they could hang them - they were going to end up with them one day anyway. I have  put them on the blog before but it has been awhile.
My youngest finally got hers hung and they look so much better hanging up.
I made this one for the $100,000 quilt contest and it made it into the semi finals.
It is hand quilted. From start to finish it took 4 months.

I hand embroidered these dolls 32 years ago - it took 9 months.
Dolls of Nations Quilt Pattern
My daughter has put a claim on it a long time ago.
I had it losely quilted except for the binding but never would finish it. So when I got my quilting machine I took the quilting out and did it on the machine. I probably should have waited until I was a little better with the machine but it gave me some practice.

I had found this patter in a magazine and fell in love with it.
I believe the cost was under $5.

After I finished all the dolls I started a flower of the month pattern for my oldest daughter and you'll never guess where that one is -- my oldest UFO. How sad.

The American Indian is my favorite.

Semi- Finish

I just love this pattern.
I got this quilted the other day and it is now waiting for the binding.
I hate taking time to put bindings on.

I did a quick all over pattern using a varigated thread.

I was really wanting to do some detailed quilting to make the pattern stand out more but I need to get some finishes done this year.

So I guess that will be a resoultion for the year - see how many UFO's I can get done.

Christmas Quilt finished

I was so busy over the Holidays trying to get things done.
This was something I started at the begining of the year and I really wanted to have it finished for the begining of December.
But that didn't happen.
I finished it at 4:30 Christmas Eve.
At least it was done before Christmas.
I was getting down to the end and was so excited.

A couple of pictures of it on a bed - it was a really big quilt

Some shots of the back

A close up

I really like putting the piping in the binding.

A Good Start

Welcome to the New Year.
Hopefully it will be better than ever.

So far I've gotten off to a good start. I cut out these 2 illusion quilts on Friday and finished putting them together on New Years Eve.
They are His and Hers, for a customer.
I put the dark one in the frame yesterday but haven't started quilting yet.

These are laying flat on the floor even though they don't look like it

How about a picture of the back. I did so much ironing my arm is sore
