Finished Top

I finally finished my quilt top for the JoAnn contest. I'm not impressed. I can only say I love my seam ripper. I don't think I have ever had to rip out as much as I did on this one.
I have it sandwiched and pinned and now I need to decide on how I'm going to quilt it. Maybe I'll like it better when it is ALL finished

One Seam Flying Geese

The other day I was looking for an easier way to do the flying geese and came across a video for one seam flying geese.  I sure didn't want to paper piece the sashings for my quilt. I did paper piece the circles around the star and that took awhile. So I decided to try it out and I love it. I will probably have alot more flyinf geese in my quilts now. This was so simple - the most time comsuming part was the ironing. I did 250 in no time.

Quillows

I have gotten into making quillows around Xmas. Last year I made 25 and these were the left overs that I sent to Project Linus. If it wasn't for the JoAnn quilt I would be working on them again this year. I have a few orders already. Not enough time.

Baby Stack - n - Whack

This is a close up of a stack n whack. I made this baby quilt for a girl I work with. I'm not crazy about making baby quilts but I wanted to make her something speial. When I took it to work to give it to her my boss liked it so much he asked how much would I sell it for, I told him and he handed me the money. I surprised him and took it. So I had to make another. Not a bad deal.
I was able to make 2 baby quilts and one twin out of one fabric section

JoAnn Quilt

I'm trying to get a quilt ready for the contest at JoAnn Fabrics. Seems like I keep running into roadblocks. It is paper pieced. I spent all day yesterday on the flying geese. My husband is taking the paper off as I write this. My intentions were for a twin quilt but it looks like it is going to be much bigger. You can't tell from the pictures but one is laid out on muslim and the other is a piece of grey. I've just about decided on the grey. Now I just need to decide if I want to machine quilt it or hand quilt it. I have much more faith in my hand quilting. I'm going to try and have it put together by the end of the week --- Riiiight

Thank you

I'd like to thank everyone for coming by. I've had a blog for years but it was mostly for my grandbabies. I threw this one together the other day and I plan on enhancing it soon - a work in progress. I love showing off my quilts. I usually take it to work when I finish it and hang it in my office so everyone can come see. They enjoy it as much as I do. I've made alot of quilts in my day and like most of you I've been giving them away.
By the way Barb's birthday was yesterday --- Happy Birthday Barbara

Another Stack-n-Whack

Bet everyone thinks all I do are stack-n-whacks. I do like them. I think they are super easy and so different. This one I made for my grand-daughter and I hand quilted it. I didn't think I would ever finish, bit off my than I could chew. Just turned into alot more hand work than I wanted to do, but it turned out great.

1st machine quilt

This was one of the 1st quilts that I machine quilted. I had alot of fun doing this one. I had a bunch of plexi-glass and I cut a template. Saved me a little money. . It is also the 1st machine quilt I sold.

Pink feathers

I wanted to make a pink quilt for Annie so I made this only it didn't turn out like I wanted. So I used it to practise feathers. They aren't great but that's why it's called practise. I have another one in the frame now, hopefully it will turn out better. Practise, Practise, Practise

My Quilting Machine

I was lucky enough to get a machine quilter this year. I've been having alot of fun - except for the tension problem. You'd think all I need to do is load a quilt and quilt. Wrong - every quilt so far I have to play with the tension. Still fun though, just wish I had more time and didn't have to go to work every day.

This is another stack-n-whack. I guess I need to start naming these. I started hand wuilting this and got bored so I finished it on the sewing machine. I just love stack-n-whack
