A little bit of Christmas

I'm not much for decorating for Christmas but it is kinda fun making things for the Holidays.
I made these placemats (whew such hard work) with napkins over the weekend for my daughter.

and they are reverseable

(But the candy is mine)

Progress

Even though I haven't gotten any quilting done lately I feel pretty good that I am getting a few things worked on.
I managed to get all the squares done for my Baby Carousel quilt.
Now to get them put together and put the border on.
Then it can go into the stack  and wait its turn.

I do have a few (quite a few) UFO's that need a little attention but I think I will spend the weekend getting a few things ready for Thanksgiving.
After all these years I finally figured out if I can get all my chopping done early it sure helps when I start cooking. I just don't have any freezer space to put everything. This is the first year in a long time that I'll have to wait to buy the turkey. It's getting close and there is so much to do - I'd rather be sewing.

In the Works

I thought I'd give a little peak on one of the projects I'm working on.
I did these carousel horses a few weeks ago and I finally decided how I wanted to put them together.
This is it.
This is just a portion of the quilt - - but I guess that goes without saying.
I took the picture with my cell phone and the colors didn't turn out right.
This is actually 2 wonderful pieces of purple.

Quilters’ Blog Hop Party - 2013

I started this post complaining about my new quilting machine still not running right but decided that was too depressing so I thought I would try to be more positive.

I have been learning my new software for my embroidery machine and here are a few of the 1st attempts.
This one was pretty simple I just added a name.

This was a little more difficult. It had Santa's Diner on it so I had to take that off 1st. Then I had to get Jeremy's Diner in the right size and place.
Not that difficult but not bad for a newbie

And this one I made quite a few months ago. I'm showing this because I spend all day Saturday looking for this design set. For the life of me I can't remember where I put it. I know I had it so I had to put it somewhere - right.
I gave up Saturday night and ordered it again.
Bad case of CRS

Christmas Quilt

I finally got the Christmas Houses quilt put together.

I've been working on these houses all year. I was begining to think I wasn't going to get it together in time. Now I just need to get my new quilter working right so I can get it done by the end of this month.

It ended up being much bigger than I had planned. But my daughter loves it this size.
