Log Cabin

I loaded this log cabin in the frame last week. This is my 1st log cabin to quilt. Seems like I've had a lot of 1sts lately. Anyway it took me awhile to figure out how I wanted to qult it.

Looks like this is becoming my signature border.
I drew this out and figured it might work.
The backing is brown so I used brown thread.
Here's another shot. Would be nice if both sides matched up better.
I think the overall will look good (hope so anyway)

Garden Path

Garden Path Bed Runner
Here is the pattern I used to make my table topper
Mine is a little different. It's shorter, thinner and I rearranged the pattern a little in order to make the table topper.

Table Topper

I finished my 1st table topper last night and it turned out alot better than I thought it would.
I took the picture above at work this morning on the table it will rest on.

I was in a hurry last night when I took these other 2 pictures.
The house was a mess but the topper looks ok.
I'm thinking about using this pattern and making a full size quilt. I guess that will just have to go on the bottom of the to-do list.

Tee Shirt Finish

I finished the tee shirt quilt Monday and put the binding on Tuesday. Gave it to my customer on Wednesday and now I need to get another one in the frame.
It sure looks better than I thought it would. I was debating on how to quilt it and my daughter suggested a chevron pattern. That worked out perfect as far as not detracting from the tee shirts.
This was my 1st tee shirt quilt and the 1st time I used the chevron pattern.
I'll know better on the next one.

I couldn't make up my mind on the binding.
I didn't want to be too bold and take away from the top or to have it be too plain.
I ended up using the yellow and I think it was a good choice.

After I put the binding on Tuesday morning I put this table topper together.
I had to cut the pattern down a little and I also re-designed it.

Simon Beck - Snow Artist

I was going to show some of my stuff today but decided to show this instead.
This amazing work was done by artist Simon Beck.

.
He creates these sensational patterns in the snow along the lakes of Savoie, France.

Spending  5-9 hours a day plodding through the snow in raquettes (snowshoes)
The man must be a quilter at heart. These designs are so percise
At least when I make a mistake I can take a seam ripper, rip it out and fix the problem. I wonder what he does when he makes a misstep

I'm just in awe. I truly love seeing a great artist and couldn't help but share.

Tee Shirt Quilt

I have been working steadly for the past 2 week just to get to this point.
I need to make 1 more sashing strip and I can finish putting it together.
I have used 10 yds of interfacing and embroidered 9 eagles.
This was just time consuming trying to get as much done in the evenings after the kids went home.
Now I need to figure out how I want to quilt it. If anyone has any ideas just let me know.
I also found this design and I couldn't resist it.
I wanted to put it on a blouse and send it for a birthday surprise but time just got away from me.
So I suppose I'll just send this practice piece and a round tu-it.
