Take The Test: How Well Do You See Color?

I was on Facebook the other day and saw this test. I thought it would be fun to put it out there for you to see.
'It is generally believed that around 1 out of 255 women and 1 out of 12 men may have some degree of color blindness. When you consider the importance color plays in the products we buy, our aesthetic tastes, and the design decisions we make when we decorate, it's quite intriguing to consider that many of us may not perceive colors in the same way.
X-Rite, a company that specializes in the technology and science of color (and who also owns the popular color system Pantone) offers a really interesting tool to test your "color IQ" online.'
I would love to know what everyone got. My score was 16 which surprised me. I figured it would be alot higher.

Our new Toy

We made it back from Ft. Worth with our new embroidery machine on Friday.
We had to get someone to help get it out of the truck and now it is setting in my living room. I will have to do some re-arranging before I can move it into the sewing room.
After we got it unloaded and set up I had to thread it and test it.
I got the tensions right and we did a trial run with the clown. Which turned out perfect good (except for the colors)

Then Saturday I did most of these and my husband finished them up when he got home from work.
Last time I made this set of dino's which took a week on my domestic machine.
Needless to say I love my new machine.

Anyone interested in a Janome MC11000SE??

Rolling Waves progress

I thought I would show my progress. This is how I decided to quilt it.
Now I have 2 weeks to get it done. I was hoping to have it done by this weekend.

But my husband and I are leaving for Ft. Worth this afternoon to pick up our new toy.

Of course this means I will need to sell my Janome but I think it will be worth it.

Rolling Waves

I am so thrilled  with myself - I cut out and pieced this in 5 days. Not bad considering my limited time.
I now have it in the frame waiting on my mind to click and let me know how to quilt it.
I did the border last night and was thinking about an edge to edge pattern. That would surely be the easiest option but I would love to do something to make it pop.

I would love to get it completed this week.
I guess I better get busy after work today.

I got the pattern from McCalls Quilting  More Fast, Easy bed Quilt Patterns ebook. It's called Rolling Waves and was designed by Jane Koelker.

Collecting Hexies

I ended up catching a cold last week and wasn't able to get much work done.
But I did manage to get my hexes sorted. I have twice this many in white.
I've been working on them off and on for awhile.
I still can't make up my mind how I want to put them together yet. I will need to decide something soon so I can re-use the templates.

Elaine's Quilt

It's been awhile.
I've actually been very busy but not with anything I can show here.
I have cut out about 5 quilts and have a few more that I would like to get to.

I have a good friend (who is 84) that put this quilt together and I finally got it quilted.

She has never used a rotary cutter before so I cut the strips then cut the strips into pieces so she just dealt with piecing.
So when I was trimming the quilt for the binding I almost took off my finger - I think it went to the bone. My daughter used 2 butterflies so I wouldn't have to get stitches.
