I received my block for February from Laurrie in Canada.

This will go nicely with all the others.

Block Swap

Ever had one of those days when nothing works out right. Yesterday was one of mine. I wanted to make a special block for my January partner so I picked out this pattern. I spent hours trying to get it perfect - I ripped and sewed and ripped and sewed and still couldn't get it to work out right.  The picture doesn't look bad but it won't lay flat

It won - I gave up and made this one instead.

Then I made this one for my February partner, She wanted a Scrappy Trip Around the World. I don't think this is quite right

I will get them in the mail today and be caught up for a few days til I get March's partner

Block Swap

Such an unproductive weekend. I spent all day Saturday on the road running errands and yesterday is just a blur. I hate weekends like that - I'd much rather have something to show for it. But I suppose we all have times like that - things need to get done.

I did receive another block for my block swap - it will go great with all the rest.

And I thought I'd take a pic of all the blocks I have so far. I have learned a little from the Swap. One thing I probably should have picked a specific pattern. I think this will look good but it would have looked alot better had they all been the same pattern. Later this year I will change it.

Block Received

I received another block yesterday for my Block Swap. I hate to admit it but I'm behind again in getting mine out. I'm past due for October. Hopefully I will be able to get to them this weekend. Last weekend I did get the binding on the 3 quilts I recently finished.

I've been so busy lately that I kept putting off my Block Swaps. So yesterday I decided to get caught up.

This is the one for my September partner

This is the one for my August partner. I have never done a wonky block before and was a little leary about this one. It turned out easier than I thought. I just drew a picture and layed out the fabrics - a little sewing and I was done.It took a little longer than I thought but it was fun

Here is my September block i received in the mail. It was put in the stack of bills and I didn't find it until yesterday. I really like the pattern and the colors will go great with my other blocks

I kept waiting for them to show up on the Block Swap blog but they never did. Makes me wonder if my partners really like them.

Block Swap

I joined a Block Swap in January and these are the blocks I have received so far. I should have 6 blocks but for the life of me I can't find one of my blocks. I don't remember not getting one so it has to be around my sewing room somewhere. I have looked and looked ever since I realized I was one block short and it's nowhere to be found. The way these things usually work when I put all the blocks together and start quilting on it I will need something and go to a drawer and low and behold I will find the block - too late.
Anyway i just thought I would show off my collection so far.

I forgot to put my newest block on here . This is my block I received from May. And naturally I'm running behind getting my June block out. Maybe this weekend. Seems I can't get much done during the week and I try to cram as much as I can in the weekend.

I managed to get this done the other day. Now if I can finish My other granddaughter's Easter dress I can get back on my Hoffman quilt. I have finally figured out how I want to do it and can't wait to get going.
