Stack-n-Whack

I had such a productive weekend. I like it when I can get something done - although my house didn't get cleaned - I'll work on that this week after work.
Anyway I started with this piece of fabric and got it tacked for a stack-n-whack.
I only had 6 repeats so it didn't take that long.
I cut off one strip and made these samples to see if they would work for something I have in mind.
I'm not sure if they are what I'm wanting for this project but they will work nicely on another.
So I had this other piece that I had started tacking a while back and I decided to finished it to see what it would look like. It took a little longer to tack - it was 8 repeats. I did manage to get 4 more of my Christmas blocks done while I was tacking (multi-tasking).
I cut a strip off and made these with the second piece.
I really like these only they are bigger than I wanted.
I also like the shape better. Only thing is these will have to be appliqued but that's not a big deal.
I do like Stack-n-Whacks.

How pretty - love the effect the umbrella fabric made. This is something I would like to try - I teach 4-patch posy, but never have done a full quilt with it - just enough samples to explain the process - weird!

I love the effect that you can get from different fabrics!

I like the second fabric. It always amazes me how different each one can be from the same fabric.
