I don't think that I have been quilting long enough to have a favorite, but I am loving star blocks right now!

Cal said...

Very nice of you to give this kit!
I am limited quilting experience but I am learning. I like the look of the stacked coin quilts. So far I have only used a snowball block pattern to make a small quilt, and a cat block for an even smaller quilt. For the only large quilt I have made, I used strips of fabric lying next to each other.

Cal said...

I now follow!

Katie said...

I love quilts made with the Drunkard's Path block. They are a pain to make but produce great results.

One of my favorite quilt patterns is called Indian Summer (http://www.amazon.com/Niemeyer-Quilting-Indian-Summer-Pattern/dp/B004KZ7KUE). My husband, his parents, and I collaborated on making a quilt like this for my brother-in-law's wedding gift. We used batik fabrics, all in warm colors. It was beautiful!

Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway!

I love log cabins patterns. Thanks for the wonderfulgiveaway - what an awesome prize!

I don't have a favorite quilt pattern... I love some patterns but if I think about the quilts I already made I have to say they never follow any normal pattern but more an idea what would the person like or how it would suit... starting from this I chose the colours... and add some special details.. I think about some stiching or stamping (or both ^^)... although it is not traditional in a sense of a pattern I think somehow it is a very traditional approach... like to tell stories :)

My favorite quilt pattern is really a random design, using up scraps, or choosing colors I like and doing strips in groups, alternating them in rows and using sashing to frame them. It allows for all kinds of color groupings and just has a fresh and friendly feeling.

I have followed a couple quilt patterns many years ago! The most recent quilts have either been ones that I have designed using Electric Quilt or quilts made from swaps. I have an applique pattern that I picked up at the Paducah APQ Quilt Show but is on my someday list. So I have not followed any quilt patterns per se but have followed block patterns. It's difficult to pick a favorite since I enjoy so many different ones. I was gifted a Judy Niemeyer paper pieced pattern of Mariner's Star. I'm looking forward to making it.
